ABBA OL Pte. Ltd. carries three brands which are Kei specialising in kaisendon (Japanese sashimi ricebowl), Onkei specialising in tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlets) and Keitaku specialising in mazesoba (a broth-less dry ramen noodle dish). The company currently has 30 outlets across Singapore, and is scheduled to open its first overseas outlet in Shanghai (Metrocity Mall), China in August 2023.

The inspiration behind the restaurant came from the owner's love for Japanese cuisine during her travels to Japan. When she returned to Singapore, she found that the prices for Japanese rice bowls were prohibitively expensive. This led her to start Kei in May 2017, and from there, the company has grown to a successful chain of 30 outlets in 2023. The word “KEI” is derived from the Japanese Kanji Character, “惠” meaning “Blessing”. The company aims to spread the spirit of graciousness through its brand vision.

The company differentiates from its competitors by bringing affordable, authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine to Singapore without compromising the quality and provide excellent service to customers. For the purpose of food standardization, it has liaised with suppliers to let them prepare certain ingredients, to ensure the size, quality and taste are consistent before sending it out to all the outlets. This has also helped the company to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the food preparation process and will benefit cooks and chefs.

The company places food innovation as one of its cardinal objectives to sustain and grow the business. It always encourages the staff to be involved in food innovation and to create unique dishes that will delight customers. In an effort to come out with new dishes, the company is also working with various suppliers to check on seasonal seafood and to introduce new and unique ingredients to the menu.

Throughout the years, the company has been working on corporate social responsibilities (CSR) programs. One of them is working with those in elderly homes to provide daily free bento and essential supplies to them. In the future, it will continue to contribute to society by collaborating with charitable and non-profit organizations to show its corporate social responsibilities.
