Eddy Yansen started PT. Aidia Media Semesta after realizing that many Indonesias companies are struggling to develop their own customer loyalty technology. Initially started by only a few part-time programmers, it took almost 1.5 years for Aidia to launch Kotakado, a digital e-voucher platform in July 2019.

Kotakado started only with Gopay and Ovo vouchers - the two largest e-wallet players in Indonesia as its merchants. But the company quickly saw traction on the demand side, where more and more companies signed up to utilize Kotakado technology as part of their loyalty program.


Unlike most discount portals, Kotakado is a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution, where Kotakado provides white-label e-voucher solutions that are already connected to hundreds of merchants. Companies that utilize Kotakado don’t need to go through all the hassle to connect merchants into their loyalty system.

For example, Sharp Electronics Indonesia enables their loyalty points to be converted into various e-vouchers provided by Kotakado. Similar clients can be found across the banking, insurance, and consumer goods sector.

Kotakado is already connected to all telecom companies for phone-credit, gaming vouchers, PDAM (water utilities credit), PLN (electricity credit), Spotify, Google Play Store, and more than 100 restaurants nationwide. Kotakado is confident that in the next 5 years, it will grow into a 10.000 merchant-strong enabler for companies.

By the end of 2020, Aidia saw substantial growth of 500% year-on-year growth in revenue. The company was also able to book net profit for the last 2 years by maintaining lean organization, agile development method, and aggressive market penetration strategies. Considering itself as a SME company, Aidia maintains the culture of a startup. Although there are not more than 10 people working in the company currently, Aidia is able to maximize technology to manage and run the company smoothly. The call center team and engineers are working closely, bridged by an advanced CRM system that answers and solves every case within 24 hours. While the engineering team works in Jogjakarta, the management and sales team is based in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Aidia is also transforming the traditional reward program with more innovative technology by providing QR codes to be printed directly into a product’s packaging. Consumers can scan and win direct rewards. Aidia is also planning to implement blockchain technology into it for better security and performance.
