ATAS Aeronautik Sdn Bhd (ATAS) was founded by Captain Peter Twang together with Captain Kenneth Yap in November 2018. The focus for this company is to provide a safe, complete and consummate general aviation eco-system in Malaysia. ATAS provides aviation training, aircraft leasing and aircraft maintenance services. It acts as a one stop solution for aircraft owners – from acquiring an aircraft to register, assemble, service and maintain the aircraft.

Within a year, ATAS has successfully obtained two CAAM licences which are for a Pilot Flying Academy (CAAM approved ATO-FTO) under its subsidiary, Asia Aeronautical Training Academy, and Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAAM approved CAMO) under its subsidiary, ATAS Aero Engineering Sdn Bhd. ATAS obtained another CAAM approved aircraft maintenance licence (CAAM approved AMO) in the following year.

Despite the current situation, Asia Aeronautical Training Academy (AATA) currently has 51 cadet pilots in training. AATA is the first flying school in Malaysia to provide a working experience and airlines preparation programme. ATAS Aero Engineering provides quality service and a one stop centre for aircraft owners to maintain and manage their aircrafts.

I, Mr Kenneth Yap Kean Foo, feel honour to be bestowed with this meaningful award. This award belongs to my team members as well, as a sign of appreciation to their assiduity throughout the year.

With a team with high spirit, we will never feel enough but will strive hard to improve. We are well-prepared for more upcoming exciting projects. We aimed to be the leader

Furthermore, ATAS is currently collaborating with Delta Aerospace Sdn Bhd to develop the first ever seaplane operations in Malaysian general aviation. The ATAS team see a huge potential for this effort which will provide more air connectivity between the coast and the airports in Malaysia. This will drive the general aviation sector in Malaysia to a new height.
The potential for aviation industry is tremendous but only a few companies in Asia can afford to invest in this high-tech aerospace industry. Thus, ATAS is taking the opportunity to promote the general aviation business and to make Malaysia the number one in aerospace by training a workforce for the future. ATAS will assist and be an important part of the Malaysia’s Aerospace Industry Blueprint 3.0 2030 and become a successful leader in the aviation industry.
