Founded in 2001, Pasaraya Borong Sakan Sdn. Bhd. is an established company with over 20 years of experience in the retail market. Dato’ Haji Che Umar Yatim started the company with his wife, Datin Hajah Resnah Husin with a very small capital and merely one outlet in their small hometown. The business, which trades in garments and household items, bloomed over the years and what started as a small family business has now expanded to a retail chain with 65 outlets nationwide. Together with him running the company today are his four children, Datin Rosmariza, Hairil Amri, Rosmarina and Rosmalinda, all acting as directors and shareholders.
Selling affordable goods for everyone, their outlets are strategically located to reach their target market across the country, including rural areas and outskirts of the cities. Apart from introducing a wide variety and latest range of products at their shops to capture new markets, they also focus in ensuring their customers feel satisfied with the purchases made at their outlets including providing excellent after-sales service, ensuring returning customers. They also sell in bulk which attracts plenty of wholesalers and corporate clients.
This award is like reaching another milestone - we are certainly grateful for this and i personally would like to dedicate this achievement to all our employees, for without a good team we definitely cannot be where we are today. It also serves as a motivation for us to strive harder to achieve even greater things in the future.

Blessed with a team of dedicated back-end team who are resilient, resourceful and hardworking, the company can only come out stronger each time as they took the challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Today, SAKAN has also expanded their business online while keeping their brick-and-mortar business strong. They also partner with many organizations in providing service to distribute aids to those in need.
