Workforce Agility For a Future Ready Organisation

Have you ever let a business opportunity pass you by because of a lack of skilled resources? Employment gaps causing frustration with existing employees? Or perhaps, staff shortage is causing business to slow down? Today, organisations have a plethora of hiring options to choose from. Depending on business needs, making only permanent hires is a thing of the past as companies can choose to fill workforce gaps by hiring Temporary or Contract Staff, otherwise also known as Contingent Workers. These staffing options can range from highly skilled positions such as Software Developers to administrative ones like Admin Executives.

A Larger Pool of Talents, Without The Risk

As the name suggests, a contingent worker is someone whose position within the organisation is temporary. Typically, such an individual, for example Sam, is not an employee of the organisation and therefore, is not categorised as a permanent hire. However, Sam will function within the job scope set by the organisation. This engagement method reduces the risk of a wrong hire as the organisation and individual can experience working together before exploring the possibility of a permanent position.

There are two hiring options within the contingent work arrangements:
  • Fixed-term Contract (Contract Workforce)
This enables the organisation to bring in workers strictly for fixed-term projects or assignments (ranging from 1 – 24 months). There would be flexibility to ramp up or down based on needs. This, in turn, reduces an organisation’s liability and cost as Sam can work on a full-time basis yet are not extended with full benefits as accorded to permanent full-time employees. Additionally, contract staff can also transition out of the engagement seamlessly at the end of the contract without any administrative burden to the employer.
  • Part-time Contract (Temporary Workforce)
This helps fill short term employment gaps that organisations face due to seasonal recruitment needs or a sudden surge in demand for a particular skill set. This could include replacement staff for employees who have taken, for example, maternity or medical leave. It can also assist with managing the temporary increase in production targets or higher call volume.

A Seamless Hiring Process to Meet Workforce Needs

The birth of CXL’s Contingent Workforce Division was to meet the rising demand for gig workers back in 2010. Today, the Contingent Workforce Division has more than 1,000 employees ready to fill gaps in its client's workforce. Their solutions also ensure optimum efficiency through automation and proper management of contracts.

The core pillars of CXL’s solution-oriented service includes:
  • Speed: A healthy and constant pool of employees with different skill sets to ensure their client's workforce requirements are fulfilled as fast as possible.
  • Quality: CXL ensures that the talents placed in their client’s organisation are well-equipped with the necessary skills and experience to get the job done.
  • Efficiency: CXL aims to make the experience hassle-free for clients. To that end, processes such as recruitment, employment, payroll and management of the employees are handled by an experienced team of consultants. That way, clients can focus on running their businesses.
  • Accuracy: Accurate and timely payroll processing is key for a good employee experience, while CXL’s clients remain compliant to all statutory reporting requirements.

It is with great honour that I accept this award on behalf of my team at CXL. Despite the unprecedented challenges, we emerge from the pandemic victorious, and we will not be winning this award without your hard work. A special thanks to our clients and partners who have supported us all these years. Your trust and believe in us is what drives us as individuals and as a business. Thank you once again.

Your Employee, But CXL’s Payroll

CXL deploys a multi-channel sourcing methodology to source from a pool of candidates and identify the best candidates that meet the clients staffing needs. From job briefings, interviews, and reference checks to hiring, CXL completes the hiring process meticulously so these individuals will be work-ready.

In addition to the hiring process, clients need not worry about tedious payroll processes. As the engaged contingent workers are considered CXL employees, the monthly payroll processing is by default part of CXL’s responsibility and in this case, payroll is processed by a highly experienced in-house team of payroll experts. As such, clients are always kept up to date with the latest changes in policies and legislations that may influence or impact their businesses. This is a crucial consideration factor because many SMEs are often left unaware until they are served with fines, and sometimes hefty ones too.

To remain progressive and relevant for the clients in an ever-evolving business landscape, CXL has since introduced digital solutions to various processes that are traditionally manually driven and time-consuming. A good example is the collection of timesheets. Conventionally, timesheets are necessary but undeniably cumbersome and time-consuming. Often, multiple work arrangements make this task even more challenging.

Today, an employee can simply log in and register via a mobile app. Smart features like geo-location is also deployed to verify an employee’s attendance, complete with supervisor’s approval to validate their presence — all in real-time and within the convenience of the app. This allows clients to dispel this portion of their work responsibilities and focus on driving the business.

A Complete Workforce

With their solutions, whole business divisions, temporary projects or campaigns can be up and running or implemented in a short time without worrying about complicated HR processes. CXL’s end-to-end solutions, from sourcing, hiring, and managing monthly payroll to report management ensure a seamless work experience for clients of all sizes and industry sectors.

CXL provides staffing needs in a wide variety of job functions — customer service, telemarketing, to executives, and in a host of industries such as e-commerce, financial institutions, manufacturing, media, logistics and more. The company’s extensive experience and knowledge in every aspect of the human resources practice, and driven by their core pillars will pave the way for better workforce agility in businesses and this shall ultimately help businesses reach their greatest potential.
