Glenns Grocer Plt. is a neighbourhood fresh mart supplying fresh fruits and vegetables for F&B operators and neighbouring communities. The company prides itself on sourcing its product pre-dominantly from local suppliers and farmers. This direct supply from farmers enables the company to sell the products at wholesale prices thus serving its customers with direct savings and quality produce. In a span of 2 years, The company has expanded to 3 locations and will be further expanding to another 15 locations in 2023.
Within the first year of its incorporation in 2019, Glenns Grocer recorded an annual sale of over RM2 million, returning a profit in 2021. Looking forward, Glenns Grocer is working on increasing its online presence with GG-GO which focuses mainly on the B2B segment. This will cater on F&B operators to order their fresh vegetable and fruit supplies with daily deliveries sent straight to their doorstep. The B2B customers will be able to directly order from Glenns Grocer’s online app which allows them to track their costs and the ease of getting their stocks delivered without the hassle of going to the wholesale market.
With its stores located within the central region of the Klang Valley, they will serve as a holding and delivery hub thus allowing the company to deliver to them at a quicker pace. This will then allow the retail stores to serve both, the online and offline segment of the market.
Glenns Grocer is adopting a direct model, which allows its customers to order directly from the source of supplies — farms and distributors — hence eliminating the need for the middleman. This will ensure that customers will be able to get the best quality and with knocked down prices. As Glenns Grocer progress, it will be expanding the offerings to cover meat, seafood and poultry.
Glenns Grocer currently serves over 10,000 customers a month and the company aims to double the number to 20,000 by 2023. Glenns Grocer is taking a different approach to O2O (online to offline) whereby its offline stores will serve as a compliment and bolster the confidence of customers via the online store platform.
