Based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Kapten Batik was launched in March 2017 as a more tailored approach to men’s batik and men’s fashion industry. Not so much a formal batik but a ‘batik you can wear everyday’, offering something you can wear on the occasion, by the pool and then smart enough to go and have a drink or lunch.

Mixing the classical and out of the norm colour, makes our batik shirt the most sought after in domestic market. The idea was started when two young entrepreneurs, also a good friend who appreciate the art of batik trying to cultivate, preserve and nurture our batik tradition back to a modern and hectic lifestyle.

Quality of material, superior craftmanship, sustainable products and availability in major shopping complexes are the key on why Kapten Batik are the first choice amongst Malaysian and tourist. This awards meant that people are believing in our brands and recognised our effort to bring Malaysian brand to the world. Creativity lies in the heart amongst our young team member. We always go against the norm, creating essentials, analysed market demand. We play a lot with data before creating any art forms. Most of Kapten Batik products have sustainability practise in mind. For example our Nusantara series certified as OEKOTEX Standard 100, our Maharaja series using GOTS certified organic cotton and all our wastage will turn into repurposed item such an accessories. We have zero waste policy in our production line. This is in line with our mission to use all organic material in all of our products.
