KOPETRO has established ESG framework with focus on 3 pillars (Environmental, Social & Governance), 8 strategic thrusts, 27 action plans with total of 35 disclosures need to be accomplished by 2026. 13 initiatives have been conducted and still ongoing supporting the ESG efforts. One of the noteworthy projects is the usage of single-used plastic initiative to all our catering services in PETRONAS offices in Klang Valley and turnaround village. In addition, KOPETRO Catering have been selected to be the first vendor in pilot project food waste composting at Pengerang, Johor.

Moving forward, KOPETRO has identified the business sustainability through integrating ESG aspect into the business operations and encompasses continuous improvement by developing an ESG framework and management system. By 2030, KOPETRO is aiming to receive an award from the United Nations Global Compact and to be recognised by SIRIM and the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei along with 274 local member companies.
