KPRJ E&C Sdn Bhd (KECSB), formerly known as KPRJ Builders Sdn Bhd (KBSB), is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ), a State Government-Linked Company (GLC). Since 1996, KECSB has established a strong track record. The company successfully attained the CIDB Grade 7 classification from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and Contractor Service Centre (PKK) on 5th April 2004.
KECSB stands out as a certified industry leader with a robust portfolio of registrations and endorsements, including the prestigious Bumiputera Status Certificate (STB). What sets KECSB apart is its proven, multi-disciplinary capabilities backed by certification across a wide range of specialised categories. These include Category B (B01, B02, B03, B04, B12, B14, B24, B29), Civil Engineering (CE01, CE02, CE03, CE06, CE10, CE11, CE13, CE19, CE20, CE21, CE34, CE36), Mechanical & Electrical (M02, M03, M15, M19) and Facilities Management (F01)
. With a strong corporate foundation, proven governance and diverse capabilities, KECSB also adheres to a systematic management framework, evidenced by its certification to ISO 9001:2008 on 10th March 2008, which was successfully upgraded to ISO 9001:2015 on 21st February 2018. Furthermore, the company has been certified to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 as of 21st December 2024 and holds a PETRONAS License to supply products and services to oil and gas exploration companies in Malaysia. Adding to its credentials, KECSB received the Sijil Kontraktor Penyiap from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) on 31st December 2023.
Since 2019, the company has actively undertaken numerous government and Local Authority (PBT) building projects through the Design and Build method. Among the key ongoing developments are the project Pembangunan Bangunan Baharu Bangunan Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Kluang (PDTK), Bangunan Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAINJ) and Bangunan Majlis Perbandaran Pengerang (MPP).
With a strong reputation as a Rescue Contractor, the company has successfully completed several abandoned and critical public projects. These include 95 units of Sekolah Agama Kerajaan Johor Fasa 1–5 Rumah Pangsa Kos Sederhana Rendah (EDL – Fasa 1 dan 2), Rumah Teres Setia Indah (427 units), Perumahan Mampu Milik Taman Sri Molek Perdana (SPNB) and PPRT Setia Indah (316 units).
A major highlight in the company’s portfolio is the successful completion of the Johor State New Administrative Centre (JSNAC) in 2012, valued at RM170 million. This achievement led to the appointment as the main construction agency for the 2020 SUKMA Games in Johor, delivering high-impact sports infrastructure projects worth RM266 million.
Razak intersection to Jalan Gertak Merah junction, completed in 2011. Subsequently from 2009 to 2011, KECSB has successfully constructed the 9.5 km route from Jalan Tun Abdul Razak intersection to Nusajaya valued at RM325 million.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda, KECSB contributed RM1.5 million towards the development of the Darul Quran Learning Centre Complex in Kota Tinggi, reinforcing its dedication to educational empowerment and community enrichment. Further affirming this commitment, KECSB has pledged an annual contribution of RM100,000 to Yayasan KPRJ, ensuring sustained support for meaningful initiatives that benefit the broader society.
